If you are asked to describe your own weaknesses during the interview

to look good

I made this up:

« Yes, my big problem is: I’m too perfectionist. For me, everything always has to be perfect. I have very high demands on myself. »

everything is not true but you have to answer something

Update: @ Ela:

Well, once I wasn’t ready for this question and said I like to sleep in.

That was probably the stupidest !!

Answer

So first of all you should hope to have the stupidest employer sitting in front of you who walks on earth, because this statement alone says a lot about you!

1. So you don’t have a weakness, but a problem, and that’s great too!
2. Does everything always have to be perfect for you So how can someone meet your demands then Certainly not your new job, because your employer knows his own weaknesses well and that includes the fact that he cannot offer you a perfect job!
3. Do you have high demands on yourself So are you vain and only related to yourself
4. Do you only have one weakness You failed.

To explain: As a rule, 3 weaknesses are desired. Sometimes even 5 or more. However, the working group will first ask you about your strengths. First rule: honesty! If you are not trained in psychological terms, then only the truth will help you! So it is important to see what your weaknesses are. Many do not even know what a weakness is, the examples given here bear witness to it. Examples of weaknesses: slowness, laziness, indolence, being unpunctual, opinionated, disorganized, disgusted, forgetful, indulgent, submissive, extroverted, etc., etc.
Do not just choose something, but explore your own weaknesses and then comes the important point: Recognize what your weakness is good for! For example, if you are lazy, then find out what it is for you. In what situations are you lazy And then realize that there is a part of you that you need to have a certain strength! You’re totally lazy when you come home and don’t help with the house! But it could be that you are so lazy at home because you suck hard into both work! So there is something good about your weakness! You need your weakness!
Do you see what I’m getting at If not, then maybe you should take 45-75 € in your hand and invest in really good coaching! There you will be shown how important it is to recognize your own weaknesses and to make use of them.

But forget to give a professional such statements as you plan to. Sorry if I have to say that, but also take a critical look at some of the suggestions mentioned here, because they may turn you into a person who might get the job, but never let you survive the probationary period!

that is the standard answer that every employer gets to hear and thinks that it is a lie. maybe honesty lasts the longest. But I wouldn’t come up with problems like « I’m lazy » or something. maybe you could look for an area that is not important for your job (e.g. as a pure data processor who does not have to work in a team that you are not so sociable).
my uncle is head of human resources and conducts many job interviews. he said that this question is not about the weakness per se, but about how the applicant reacts to being in such an uncomfortable situation. this is the best way for him to decide whether the applicant also fits into his team. but don’t know whether all companies do it that way …

For God’s sake, no !! I don’t find it good, rather repulsive and arrogant. And certainly not good if it’s not the truth. You have to stand behind what has been said. Name your real weaknesses. Should you be hired, they’ll turn out at some point anyway. Be honest Some people can see lying on the tip of their nose. Of course you could say that if it were actually true, but it doesn’t seem to be. If it is a pleasant conversation, answer that your weakness is that it is difficult for you to describe your weaknesses 😉

Is that the truth I could only say something that is half the truth. Too perfectionist: sounds like someone who plays around with one thing all day, others might be done with it in 10 minutes. When asked about your weaknesses, give an ambivalent answer, that is, one that cannot easily be traced back to your private self: « I’ll tell you a definite weakness: I don’t like to answer some questions directly. » …… “I found it difficult to accept praise. I had to learn to enjoy the joy of team members and superiors. « ……

Anyone who works like you won’t get the job or get the wrong one. You better tell the truth. Good suggestions on how to do this without unnecessarily exposing yourself can be found in the magazine Neon « The honest application ».
